After she embarked from the whaling harbor in Paita Peru, at six months old, Annie wasn't able to set foot on land until she was around two, as pictured here, c 1870, probably in Australia. She had to have gotten her sealegs before her "landlegs."
The smaller South Pacific islands that they stopped at for supplies and trade were off limits to both she and the crew!
Know far fewer limits with this spacious organic cotton tote bag.
Fill it up with groceries, books, and travel essentials—there’s room for everything!
No islands excepted!
1st Landfall in Australia Large organic tote bag
The tote has a print of a hand-colored photograph of Annie, at approximately age two, in Australia. This small, richly colored image in an gold oval frame. lived at the crossroad of every apartment her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren lived in with Annie. Several great-grandchildren, proprietor included, remember its poignant precious presence from ewven before we know where it came from.
When the frame was removed for this photograph, much more was revealed, in fully preserved, much brighter tones.
